United Airlines will increase its direct flights to Costa Rica, with two more coming from Houston and Newark in November and December of this year, according to Costa Rican newspaper La republica.
This increase will allow United to strengthen its presence in Costa Rica, making the country one of its top Latin American destinations, second only to Mexico.
Since April 13 United flies nonstop between Chicago and San Jose, and between Washington and San Jose. Costa Rica is a strong destination for United, one that allows the airline to take advantage of its two international airports (one in Liberia and the other one in Alajuela).
Flights to Newark will increase to three daily, and flights to Houston will increase to four daily.
The airline saw a rise of around 5 percent in the occupancy rate for the country in the past two years.
Costa Rica is rapidly becoming the center of real Estate investments in Latin America. With Naturewalk's addition of hotels and tourist-related activities, such as the Adventure Center and the coffee and pineapple plantation-tour, Naturewalk will directly benefit from the increased airlift to Costa Rica.
